Newcastle…A City in Lockdown

Grainger Street and Grey St in one photo

In March 2020 a worldwide pandemic named Covid 19 brought the world to a standstill. Governments were forced to put countries into lockdown to protect there citizens and the North Eastern City of Newcastle Upon Tyne was just one of them. Home to our gallery we which we were forced to close, the city streets fell silent, next to nobody was outside and traffic was minimal. On occasion I needed to visit my gallery in order to get things that enabled me to continue working from home. It is was on these occasions that I took a little wonder only a few hundred metres from the gallery to shoot some of these amazing images. As a photographer it is very rare to get these kind of shots, sure you can wonder the streets at 4a.m. in the summer months and not see a sole but the cars would still be parked on the side of the road.
