‘From Bamburgh With Love’

Now in it’s 5th year the heart series expands this year with an image from the iconic Bamburgh Castle in Northumberland. This beautiful natural heart shaped rockpool is visible at low tide on the north side of the castle. In keeping with the rest of the series it’s limited to 150 copies and available Here

History

The heart series came about from a dull and grey sunrise at Dunstanburgh Castle.  Whilst waiting for the golden hour I stumbled upon a heart shaped rock, the colour never came to grace the skies and so I thought I would take a few shots with this rock in the foreground of the shot.  I didn’t do much with the photo for nearly a year when I was looking through some old folders and seen it.  It was close to Valentines Day so I decided to show it to the world on the 14th February 2013.  The idea of this becoming a series had never entered my head but about 10 months later whilst down at Tynemouth Pier again waiting for the golden hour I clambered over a rock and as I looked down I seen a Heart Shaped rockpool.  A lightbulb went off in my head and I would save the image to be released in time for Valentines Day 2014.  Thus the series was born.  I now have 12 months to find another natural heart shape formation in time for Valentines Day 2018.

Love to you all this Valentines
